Childcare Cook Pathway to Employment

The Pre-employment Program offers a great opportunity for learners to gain an insight into the hospitality industry and the job opportunities it presents. By taking part, they will develop the confidence and skills required to launch a successful career, while also gaining accredited qualifications which can open doors to further study options and long-term employment. The 6-day course runs three days per week and is open to anyone with the necessary English language proficiency. On successful completion of the program, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment that recognises all accredited training.

A training program supporting participants to gain entry level employment or a traineeship as a Childcare Cook

The Pre-employment Program provides learners with the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the hospitality industry, the employment options it offers, and the confidence and skills needed to launch a successful career in the field. Upon completion of the 6-day program, which runs three days a week and is available for anyone with the necessary English language competency, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the accredited training. During the program, learners will develop knowledge in planning, preparing, and cooking food items to ensure the highest quality of service and experience for childcare centres. They will also gain skills in organizing and running a kitchen efficiently, as well as learning about proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures.

All sessions are face to face 10am to 3pm, 3 days per week.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

It is mandatory for all students undertaking Nationally Recognised Training in Australia to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Students will need their USI to apply to enrol for training. Visit www.usi.gov.au for more information.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however students are expected to have or be able to achieve written and spoken English skills to the certificate level of the course, or the ability to develop these skills whilst in training to meet the requirements of the qualification. To allow our trainers to support your learning, students will need to complete a student profile, including language, literacy and numeracy indicators before their enrolment application is accepted.
